On April 18th, 2016, age 96, of Hyattsville, MD. Mother of Linda (Hal) Metcalf, and Gilbert Dehnel. Grandmother of one granddaughter, two grandsons and one great grandson. Her husband, Gilbert Dehnel, preceded her in death. Four grandpuppies and two grandkitties also survive. She lived in the Washington area since the mid-50s and was a member in the Order of the Eastern Star. She retired from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD in 1984. She was an active volunteer for over 25 years for both Meals on Wheels and the OASIS Senior Center in Hyattsville. She loved painting and working with stained glass. She was a very talented and artistic person. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 22nd at 11:30 am. Please assemble at the Administration Building for procession at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD.
