Mrs. Rice passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Mescalero, New Mexico. She was born November 15, 1923 in Leonardtown, Maryland. She married Robert “Bob” Rice on February 3, 1951 in Cheverly, Maryland. Before moving to New Mexico, she was a long time parishioner of Holy Redeemer Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Rice; children, Robert J. Rice Jr. of Cobb Island, MD, Michael A. Rice of Huntingtown, MD, Mary A. Scribner of Lanham, MD, Regina L. Terry of College Park, MD, John G. Rice of College Park, MD, Lynn M. Marion of Woodbine, MD, and Patricia A. Rice of Boonsboro, MD; two sisters, Mary Means of Ruidoso and Rita Brawner of Nanjemoy, MD; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and she was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Ave., Hyattsville, MD. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 7 at 10 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 4902 Berwyn Rd., College Park, MD. Interment immediately following.

Great granddaughter of Milagros A. Rodriguez and Roger Pineda, Manuel DeJesus and Altagracia Mayi. She is also survived by her aunts Natasha, Venessa and Natalia Muniz, Xenia and Kennia Cruz and cousins Abigail and Jermiah Sosa. Family will receive visitors at CHRISTIAN LIFE CENTER, 5600 Taylor Road, Riverdale Park, MD at 10am on Saturday, February 9th until funeral at 11am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring. On Sunday, February 3, 2013, of Riverdale, MD. Beloved husband of Juanita (Morgan) Johnson; devoted Dad of daughters Kathryn Shrader, who preceded him in death, Judy Johnson, Rev. Bobbi Troyer, Janice Johnson and son Marty Johnson; and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He also embraced as if daughters, Susan Coles, Rev. Beverly Sholar, and Linda Hindberg. Gene served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and then worked until his retirement as a Geographical Art Specialist in the Office of Intelligence at the Pentagon. He was an avid and excellent guitar player, admired by all for his musical talents. On Thursday, February 14, 2013 of Prince George’s County, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Keith was the devoted husband of 45 years to Myrtle Grimes. Loving father of Marie, Gary, Ann, Cheryl and Keith, Jr.; he was preceded in death by two of his children, Wayne and Elaine. He is survived by 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Keith was a longtime PG County volunteer firefighter prior to becoming a career DC firefighter in 1958. He was also a retired PG County school bus driver. Elizabeth grew up in York, PA right next to the railroad where her father was an engineer. Born August 30, 1922, she met the love of her life, Lamdin “Fred” Blaine, at a roller rink in 1942. They married in 1945 and moved to Washington, DC where she loved and supported him through ambitions to become a physicist with NASA. After 68 years of marriage, today he misses her terribly. She passed to a better place on February 25, 2013. She proudly raised, and is survived by, three children: Cynthia, Robert, and Leslie Blaine. Four young girls, Abby, Hailey, Hannah and Sydney, will always remember their loving grandma. Visitation will be held on February 28 from 10 to 11 am at Riderwood Chapel, 3120 Gracefield Rd, Silver Spring, MD where funeral services will follow at 11 am. Burial on Friday March 1 in Airville, PA.
